It aims to provide users with a streamlined, professional approach to buying and selling second-hand fashion.

Dubai startup Yalla BB launches app to simplify second-hand fashion in the UAE
Dubai-based startup Yalla BB has launched a new mobile application to make buying and selling second-hand fashion in the UAE easier, offering a more structured and trustworthy approach in a market that continues to grow in popularity.
Built locally, Yalla BB is a social recommerce platform that modernises second-hand fashion. The app allows users to list, browse, and purchase items within a single platform, addressing common challenges such as fragmented supply, lack of trust, and time-consuming online sales.
Second-hand fashion, especially for designer and higher-value items, has gained momentum in the UAE. Yet much of the market remains informal, leaving buyers struggling to find relevant products and sellers facing friction when listing and pricing items. Yalla BB aims to bridge these gaps with a more streamlined and professional resale experience.
Unlike traditional classified platforms, the app is designed around personalised discovery and social interaction, helping users find relevant items faster and allowing sellers to reach interested buyers without relying solely on manual promotion. The current version offers core marketplace features, with plans to enhance discovery and personalisation in future updates.
Technology and premium support central to Yalla BB’s vision
Technology is a key part of Yalla BB’s long-term strategy. The company plans to introduce AI-powered tools to assist with listing support, pricing guidance, and product discovery, aiming to reduce effort for sellers and help buyers make more confident decisions. These features will be rolled out progressively as the platform evolves.
For premium and luxury items, Yalla BB has developed an end-to-end enablement approach for selected sellers. This includes practical support such as photoshoots, pricing advice, and listing management, making it easier for high-value sellers to maintain quality and consistency. The initiative has also allowed the company to start building relationships with influencers and premium sellers as part of its UAE market entry strategy.
Yalla BB introduces promoted visibility and outlines expansion plans
In addition to facilitating transactions, Yalla BB plans to offer promoted visibility options within the app, enabling sellers and brands to highlight selected products and improve discovery for targeted audiences.
Commenting on the launch, Muriel Espagnet, co-founder of Yalla BB, said:
“We launched Yalla BB to make second-hand fashion easier and more trustworthy for people in the UAE. Today, buying and selling pre-owned items can be time-consuming and fragmented. Our goal is to offer a more structured experience, starting with the essentials and progressively introducing technology that supports both sellers and buyers.”
With its UAE launch, Yalla BB aims to progressively professionalise second-hand fashion by combining a trusted marketplace foundation with a clear product vision. Built in Dubai, the platform starts in the UAE with a roadmap for future expansion across the Middle East, reflecting shared consumer behaviours and rising demand for structured resale throughout the region.
