Worried about property payments in the UAE? Developers are offering deferment options.

Date:

While initial damage appears limited, the used car market can experience a delayed effect, with flood‑affected vehicles resurfacing weeks later, particularly through informal channels.

Property developers in the UAE are providing payment deferment options for buyers struggling with monthly installments amid ongoing regional tensions, while assuring that construction progress and project timelines remain on track.

Developers noted that requests are assessed individually, with flexibility granted to customers facing genuine short-term financial difficulties.

Azizi Developments stated that it is collaborating closely with affected buyers and has implemented internal procedures to assess deferment requests.

“We handle each case individually, working hand-in-hand with customers facing genuine short-term challenges. Our customers are an extension of the Azizi family, and we approach each situation with fairness, understanding, and practical support,” said Tizian Raab, Vice-President for Communications and Advisor to the Group CEO at Azizi Developments.

He added that the company has set up a dedicated internal committee to review deferment requests and maintain consistency. “Where appropriate, we offer tailored solutions, including limited flexibility on payment timelines. These are not standardised deferment schemes but carefully considered adjustments based on individual circumstances and need.”

Raab stressed that operations continue without interruption, with all projects advancing as planned.

Yousuf Fakhruddin, CEO and Managing Partner of Fakhruddin Properties, noted that the company has long supported buyers facing genuine financial difficulties.

“We have always accommodated buyers when there is a legitimate reason. Some pay in advance, while others may experience delays due to financial constraints. We do not impose penalties in such cases and are open to deferment requests,” he said.

Fakhruddin emphasized that construction across all projects is continuing at full speed, supported by available financing and active contractor involvement. “We do not anticipate any delays in project delivery. All construction activities are progressing smoothly, and the country remains very safe,” he added.

Dubai-based RRS International Development also reported receiving a limited number of deferment requests.

Rakesh Mirchandani, Co-founder of RRS International Development and Partner at RRS Capital Management, said the company is working closely with customers to understand their needs.

“This involves offering deferred payments — a short-term relief that eases immediate financial pressure while keeping long-term commitments on track. We are handling requests carefully, with a solutions-oriented approach,” he said.

Mirchandani added that deferments are usually granted for one to three months, depending on each buyer’s circumstances. “We remain fully committed to ongoing development and project delivery, supporting both our clients and investors as we navigate this evolving situation,” he said.

Casagrand, another Dubai-based developer, also reported receiving a small number of deferment inquiries.

“We understand that the current regional situation may create uncertainty for some buyers, and we are proactively engaging with customers to assess and address their needs,” said Luthfullah K, Director, Dubai, Casagrand.

The company is providing incentives, including 4% Dubai Land Department fee waivers and special price discounts, to help lower the overall cost of ownership.

Despite deferment requests, developers report that market sentiment remains strong, with steady demand and ongoing sales momentum across the UAE property sector.
