The US government issued an advisory urging Americans in the UAE to depart the Middle East via available commercial flights or by crossing through Oman and Saudi Arabia amid escalating tensions tied to the conflict involving Iran.
This reflects the broader “depart now” warning from the US State Department for citizens across more than a dozen Middle Eastern countries due to growing safety risks connected to the current US‑Israel‑Iran confrontation.
US citizens in the UAE have been advised to consider two options if they wish to leave the country. First, they are encouraged to check the limited commercial flights currently operating from UAE international airports, with the US government offering assistance where possible.
Second, they have been informed that land borders with Oman and Saudi Arabia are open, though reports indicate heavy congestion at these crossing points.
“We encourage Americans to consider departing the UAE if you believe you can do so safely,” the US government said.
For those unable or unwilling to leave, authorities advised sheltering in place at a residence, hotel, or other secure location, staying away from windows, and going outside only as necessary to obtain food, water, medications, or other essential supplies.
Earlier, the US issued a warning to its citizens across several Middle Eastern countries affected by the US‑Israel‑Iran conflict, urging immediate departure via commercial means due to “serious safety risks.”
The State Department specifically advised Americans to leave Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Lebanon, Iran, Oman, Iraq, Qatar, Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
