Americans advised to avoid Abu Dhabi and Dubai missions as consular appointments are cancelled.
The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the US Consulate General in Dubai have suspended all consular appointments from July 13 to July 15 due to the ongoing regional security situation.
In a security alert issued on Monday, the US Mission to the UAE advised individuals scheduled for appointments during this period not to visit the embassy or consulate. Officials said affected applicants would be contacted directly to arrange new appointment dates.
Americans advised against visiting embassy
The embassy advised US citizens with scheduled appointments between July 13 and 15 to wait for further guidance and avoid visiting the diplomatic missions during this period.
“The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the US Consulate General in Dubai have cancelled consular appointments from July 13 to 15 due to the ongoing regional security situation,” the US Mission to the UAE said.
Limited consular services remain available
The US Mission said the embassy in Abu Dhabi and consulate general in Dubai remain under ordered-departure status, with non-emergency US government personnel relocated from the UAE.
As a result, only limited consular assistance is currently being provided to US citizens.
Americans seeking emergency services, including passport assistance, have been advised to contact the embassy through the U.S. Citizen Services Navigator. Consular officials will then respond by email with further guidance and instructions.
Routine visa services remain suspended
The embassy also confirmed that routine US visa services across the UAE remain suspended until further notice.
The latest advisory comes as the United States continues to adjust its diplomatic operations across the region amid heightened security concerns. The US Mission has urged American citizens to monitor official updates and follow guidance issued by embassy officials.
