The drone strike on a commercial vessel has been condemned as an act of piracy and a threat to global energy flows.

United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the terrorist drone attack targeting a commercial cargo vessel in the territorial waters of Qatar, which caused a limited fire onboard the ship but resulted in no injuries.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that such terrorist attacks constitute a violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar and pose a threat to its security and stability.
The United Arab Emirates also expressed full solidarity with Qatar and its support for all measures aimed at safeguarding its security and stability.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the attack represents a clear violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, which underscores the importance of freedom of navigation and rejects any targeting of commercial vessels or disruption of international maritime routes.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that targeting commercial shipping and using the Strait of Hormuz as a means of economic coercion or blackmail amounts to acts of piracy and poses a direct threat to regional stability, the safety of its peoples, and global energy security.
