UAE Airports Handle 1.4 Million+ Passengers in Early March, Says GCAA.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to show resilience in its tourism and aviation sectors despite ongoing regional tensions, with authorities highlighting that operations remain normal and robust support measures are in place for travelers.
According to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), more than 1.4 million passengers traveled through UAE airports and national carriers between March 1 and 12.
Despite regional tensions, the UAE has maintained strong connectivity, with flights continuing to operate while implementing temporary safety measures as needed.

Resorts, major attractions, retail centres, and cultural sites across the UAE are open and fully operational, adhering to approved safety and quality standards.
Temporary Disruptions
While some flights experienced temporary disruptions due to regional developments — including airspace restrictions and postponements — the UAE has maintained a high level of connectivity.
According to the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), more than 1.4 million passengers traveled through UAE airports and national carriers between March 1 and 12, with approximately 7,839 air traffic movements recorded during the same period, as reported by WAM.
Flights continue to operate with temporary safety adjustments as needed, ensuring secure travel for passengers.
UAE Support for Stranded Passengers
Demonstrating its commitment to visitor welfare, the UAE government has taken steps to assist passengers affected by flight disruptions.
Authorities are covering accommodation and catering costs for those impacted by postponed flights, and hotels have been instructed to extend stays for affected guests.
This initiative reflects the UAE’s focus on ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of all individuals within its borders, including tourists and transit passengers.
These measures further underscore the nation’s dedication to maintaining its position as a leading global tourism and aviation hub, even amid regional challenges.
Travel Guidance and Aviation Safety
Travelers are encouraged to stay informed through official channels for the latest updates on flight schedules and services.
Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of the GCAA Board, emphasized that the UAE has managed this period with a responsible approach that prioritizes human safety while ensuring the aviation sector continues to meet travelers’ needs.
He stated: “The safety of passengers, pilots, flight crews, and all personnel in the aviation sector remains our top priority in all decisions regarding airspace and flight operations. Despite the exceptional circumstances in the region in recent days, the UAE successfully balanced air traffic management by operating limited flights via approved contingency routes, ensuring the continuity of travel in line with the highest safety standards.”
He added that operational indicators demonstrate the effectiveness of these measures and highlight the UAE aviation system’s ability to manage diverse situations efficiently while maintaining smooth passenger movement.
