UAE Weather: Temperatures Set to Hit 44°C on Friday as Overnight Fog Expected

Date:

UAE Weather: Low Clouds Expected on East Coast as Mist May Form Early Sunday.

Abu Dhabi: Temperatures are expected to climb to 44°C in Liwa and around 40°C in Dubai on Friday, as increasing overnight humidity raises the possibility of fog and mist across some parts of the UAE, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The forecast for September 18 and the next three days indicates generally stable conditions, with skies ranging from fair to partly cloudy. Low clouds are expected to develop over the east coast, accompanied by light to moderate winds.

Humidity is forecast to increase during the night and early morning hours, creating repeated chances of fog or mist and potentially reducing visibility in some areas through the beginning of next week.

Abu Dhabi is forecast to record a high of 41°C, with similar temperatures expected in Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah. Sharjah could reach 40°C, while Ajman is likely to peak at 39°C and Fujairah at 38°C.

Hotter conditions are expected across inland areas, with temperatures in Al Ain forecast to climb to 43°C. Liwa is set to be even warmer at 44°C, making it one of the hottest locations in the country.

Temperatures are expected to ease overnight, dropping to around 29°C in Abu Dhabi and 30°C in Dubai. Sharjah and Liwa could experience slightly cooler conditions, with minimum temperatures forecast at 26°C.

Humidity levels may rise to as high as 85 per cent in several areas, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Fujairah. The increase in moisture from Friday night into Saturday morning could lead to fog or mist developing over some coastal and inland locations, potentially reducing visibility.

On Friday, winds are expected to blow from the south-east before shifting north-westerly, with speeds ranging between 10 and 20km/h and occasionally reaching 30km/h. Sea conditions are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Similar weather is expected on Saturday, September 19, with generally fair to partly cloudy skies and low clouds appearing over the east coast. Humidity is likely to increase overnight and into Sunday morning, bringing a possibility of mist across some coastal areas.

By Sunday, September 20, the chance of fog or mist is expected to spread to parts of the coastal and inland regions during the night and into Monday morning. Similar conditions could return from Monday night through Tuesday morning.

Between Saturday and Monday, winds are forecast to range from south-easterly to north-easterly at around 10 to 20km/h, with gusts reaching up to 30km/h. Seas are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman throughout the period.
