UAE weather: Rain expected in some areas as temperatures climb to 41°C

Date:

UAE weather: NCM forecasts rain, dusty winds and fog ahead of weekend cooldown.

Dubai: Parts of the UAE could see rainfall on Thursday as convective clouds develop over eastern and western areas, while temperatures are expected to reach 41°C in some inland regions, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

In its latest weather bulletin, the NCM forecast fair to partly cloudy conditions, with convective clouds likely to form over eastern and western areas in the afternoon, bringing the possibility of rainfall.

The unsettled weather is associated with an extension of a surface low-pressure system, accompanied by an upper-air low-pressure system.

Winds are expected to be light to moderate, blowing from the southeast to northeast at speeds of 10 to 25 km/h and occasionally reaching 40 km/h over inland and mountainous areas. Stronger winds could stir up dust and reduce visibility.

Temperatures are forecast to range from 35°C to 41°C inland, 34°C to 38°C along the coast and on the islands, and 26°C to 32°C in mountainous areas.

Humidity is expected to rise overnight and into Friday morning, particularly in some coastal areas, increasing the likelihood of fog or mist. Sea conditions will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Rain chances to continue over the weekend

Looking ahead, the NCM expects partly cloudy conditions on Friday, with convective clouds potentially developing over eastern areas in the afternoon.

On Saturday, eastern and northern parts of the country could see further rainfall, accompanied by a gradual drop in temperatures.

Similar conditions are forecast for Sunday, with convective clouds likely to form over northern and eastern areas, bringing additional chances of rain.

Humidity is expected to remain high overnight and during the early morning hours, with fog or mist possible in some coastal and inland areas.

By Monday, conditions are forecast to remain fair to partly cloudy, with clouds developing over northern and eastern regions during the afternoon.

Winds are expected to remain generally light to moderate over the coming days, occasionally reaching speeds of 35 km/h. Sea conditions are forecast to range from slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and remain slight in the Oman Sea.
