NCM forecasts afternoon rain in eastern and southern UAE, with winds reaching 40km/h.
Dubai: The UAE is set for a mix of rain, dust and high temperatures on Monday, with temperatures expected to reach 49°C, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
Conditions will be fair to partly cloudy, with convective clouds likely to develop over parts of the eastern and southern regions during the afternoon, bringing a chance of rainfall. Light to moderate winds are expected to strengthen at times, stirring up dust and reducing visibility in some areas.
Temperatures are expected to peak at 45°C to 49°C in inland areas, 42°C to 47°C along the coast and islands, and 32°C to 38°C in the mountains.
Winds are expected to reach speeds of up to 40km/h across inland and mountainous areas, while coastal areas and islands could see winds of up to 35km/h. Seas are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
According to the NCM, the weather conditions are being influenced by an extension of a surface low-pressure system from the east, along with an upper-air low-pressure system that is supporting the development of local clouds.
Temperatures are expected to ease gradually on Tuesday, particularly along coastal areas, although winds could still reach 40km/h, stirring up dust.
Another chance of rain is forecast in eastern areas on Wednesday as convective clouds develop during the afternoon. Conditions are expected to remain fair to partly cloudy on Thursday and Friday, with humidity levels rising overnight in some coastal areas.
