Convective clouds may bring rain to eastern and southern UAE, with winds reaching 45km/h.
Dubai: Rain is expected in parts of the UAE on Thursday, while temperatures could climb to 49°C. Strong winds associated with cloud activity may also cause blowing dust, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The weather is expected to remain fair to partly cloudy, with convective clouds likely to form over eastern and southern areas in the afternoon, increasing the chance of rainfall. Weather conditions are being influenced by an extension of a surface low-pressure system from the east, along with an upper-air low-pressure system.
Temperatures are expected to range from 45°C to 49°C in inland areas, 39°C to 45°C along the coast and islands, and 33°C to 38°C in mountainous regions.
Winds are expected to be light to moderate overall, but may turn fresh to strong at times near clouds, potentially lifting dust. Wind speeds could reach up to 45km/h in mountainous areas, 40km/h inland and 35km/h along the coast and islands.
The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea are expected to remain slight.
The possibility of rain will persist on Friday, with convective clouds expected to form over eastern areas during the afternoon. Rain-bearing clouds may also develop over eastern and southern parts of the UAE on Saturday.
Weather conditions are likely to become more stable on Sunday. However, humidity could increase over some coastal and inland areas on Monday night and Tuesday morning, bringing a chance of fog or mist.
