Drivers advised to allow extra travel time as major UAE routes face heavy congestion.

Traffic is building up across key Dubai and Sharjah routes this Friday morning, with heavy congestion reported on E11 and E311, as well as roads around Al Qusais, Al Nahda and Sharjahâs industrial areas.
With morning traffic coinciding with rising temperatures, Dubai Police has urged motorists to make sure their vehicle air-conditioning systems are functioning properly.
The force said an effective air-conditioning system can help reduce fatigue and discomfort caused by high temperatures inside vehicles, reminding drivers to put safety first while on the road.
Dubai traffic
Heavy congestion is being reported on E311 â Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, particularly from Al Twar 3 towards Dubai International Airport and around Madinat Al Maktoum.
Traffic is also slow on E311 near Sharjah Industrial Area 13.
Other affected locations include Al Khabaisi, Al Mamzar around E11 â Al Ittihad Street, Hessyan First, and Al Quoz Industrial Area Second along Al Zumorrod Street.
Traffic on E311 from Dubai International Airport towards Al Rashidiya is currently moving more smoothly by comparison.
Dubai-Sharjah border sees heavy delays
Motorists travelling between Dubai and Sharjah are facing significant delays along E11 â Al Ittihad Road.
Heavy congestion extends from Sahara Centre across the Dubai-Sharjah border towards the D93/4th Street interchange. Traffic is also slow around Deira and Abu Hail, particularly near the D93 and D92 connections.
Sharjahâs industrial areas are also experiencing severe congestion, particularly around Industrial Areas 10 and 15 and Muwaileh Commercial, near the E311 interchange.
Al Qusais and northern Dubai routes

Heavy traffic is reported along Damascus Street (D64) through Al Qusais Industrial Area, past Madina Mall and towards the LuLu Center/Village area.
Beirut Street (D62) is also congested through Al Qusais towards Al Twar 3, while traffic remains heavy around the D93/4th Street connection with E11.
The S116/S102 junction near Industrial Area 17 and the Oud Al Muteena/Al Mizhar Third border is also seeing significant congestion.
Bumper-to-bumper traffic
Several roads are experiencing bumper-to-bumper congestion, including:
- Sharjah Industrial Area 2, around S117 â Second Industrial Street
- Sharjah, along E11 â Al Ittihad Street
- D90 â Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street in Al Hudaiba
- D72 â Al Asayel Street in Jebel Ali Industrial First
Minor traffic incidents
Motorists should also remain alert to reported restrictions and incidents around the S116/S102 junction, Al Mamzar and Corniche Road, as well as the Al Garhoud/Dubai Creek area.
Plan ahead
With congestion affecting several major routes between Dubai and Sharjah, motorists are advised to allow extra time for Friday morning journeys, particularly when travelling on E11, E311, D62, D64 and roads around Al Qusais and the industrial areas.
Drivers should check traffic conditions before setting off and consider alternative routes where possible.
