UAE temperatures set to hit 48°C, with possible rain in eastern areas.

Date:

High humidity to continue overnight as eastern and southern regions face chances of convective rain.

Dubai: Temperatures across the UAE are forecast to rise to 48°C on Tuesday, with mostly fair to partly cloudy conditions expected nationwide. The National Centre of Meteorology said convective clouds could develop over eastern areas later in the day.

The weather agency added that humidity levels will remain high overnight and into Wednesday morning, particularly in some western coastal areas. Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds are expected, occasionally strengthening to speeds of up to 35km/h.

Sea conditions are expected to remain slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Oman Sea, with offshore areas likely to turn rough by Wednesday morning.

Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 43°C and 48°C in inland areas, 38°C to 42°C along coastal regions and islands, and 32°C to 37°C in mountainous areas.

The weather outlook for the remainder of the week indicates that hot conditions will continue, with temperatures forecast to rise further on Wednesday.

Convective clouds are forecast to form over eastern and southern areas, with the possibility of localised rainfall. Southeasterly to northeasterly winds may strengthen at times, reaching speeds of up to 40km/h, potentially causing blowing dust in exposed locations.

Similar weather conditions are expected on Thursday, with further chances of convective cloud development and isolated showers across eastern and southern parts of the UAE. Winds will remain light to moderate, occasionally becoming stronger and contributing to dust movement.

By Friday, fair to partly cloudy skies are expected to continue, with cloud formation likely over eastern and southern regions. Temperatures are forecast to remain largely unchanged, while winds ease slightly with gusts reaching up to 35km/h. Sea conditions are expected to stay slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

The same weather pattern is likely to continue into Saturday, with fair to partly cloudy conditions across the country. Humidity is expected to increase overnight and into Sunday morning over some coastal areas, with a possibility of mist formation. Winds will remain light to moderate, occasionally freshening, while sea conditions continue to be slight to moderate.
