UAE slams Iran over drone strike targeting Azerbaijan

Date:

UAE denounces Iran’s drone strike on Azerbaijan as a threat to regional stability.

ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the Iranian drone strike targeting the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, calling the attack a dangerous escalation, a blatant violation of state sovereignty, and a direct threat to regional security and stability.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) emphasized that the extension of such attacks to additional countries is unacceptable under all legal and political norms. MoFA described the strikes as a serious escalation that undermines de-escalation efforts and further heightens tensions in the region.

As the conflict reverberates far beyond the Middle East, **Azerbaijan warned that the Iranian drone strike on an airport in its Nakhchivan exclave — part of its border with **Iran — “will not go unanswered,” signaling possible retaliation and raising concerns about wider regional escalation.
