Dubai: The UAE is bracing for several more days of unsettled weather, with rain expected to remain possible through Thursday. Parts of the country have already recorded showers for three consecutive days, while heavy downpours in Al Ain caused water to flow across roads and collect in some areas.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said Monday will be fair to partly cloudy, with convective clouds likely to develop over eastern areas in the afternoon, bringing a chance of rain.
Conditions are also expected to turn humid overnight and into Tuesday morning, particularly over some coastal areas. Southeasterly to northeasterly winds will be light to moderate, ranging from 10 to 25 km/h and occasionally reaching 35 km/h. Seas will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
The chance of rain will expand to more parts of the UAE on Tuesday, with the NCM forecasting fair to partly cloudy conditions and convective clouds developing over eastern and southern areas in the afternoon, bringing rainfall in some locations.
Humidity is also expected to rise overnight and into Wednesday morning across some coastal and inland areas, with a possibility of fog or mist forming.
Winds will remain southeasterly to northeasterly at 10 to 25 km/h, occasionally reaching 40 km/h around convective clouds and potentially kicking up dust.
Unsettled weather is expected to persist on Wednesday, with convective clouds likely to develop over eastern and southern areas in the afternoon before spreading to parts of the interior, bringing another chance of rain.
Winds are expected to strengthen around convective clouds, reaching speeds of 15 to 30 km/h and up to 45 km/h at times, with blowing dust and sand possible.
Humidity will rise again overnight, with fog or mist possible over some coastal areas on Thursday morning.
Thursday is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with convective clouds possibly developing over eastern areas in the afternoon and bringing further rainfall.
Winds will be light to moderate, becoming fresh at times around convective clouds and reaching up to 40 km/h, with blowing dust possible.
Humidity is expected to increase overnight and into Friday morning over some coastal areas, while seas will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
