UAE Fog Alert: Dubai Airport Sees One Flight Diverted; Sharjah Airport Issues Weather Advisory

Date:

Sharjah Airport advises travelers to monitor flight statuses amid ongoing weather alerts.

Dubai: Monday morning fog and mist caused minor delays and one flight diversion at Dubai International Airport (DXB), affecting operations across parts of the UAE.

A spokesperson for Dubai Airports confirmed that overall operations were largely unaffected despite the foggy conditions.

“We had one flight diversion due to fog. The weather is improving, and there is no wider disruption at present. Operations at DXB remain normal,” the spokesperson said.

In neighboring Sharjah, authorities issued a passenger advisory as foggy conditions continued to reduce visibility.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Sharjah International Airport said:

“We advise passengers to contact their airlines directly to verify the status of their flights before heading to the airport,” adding that weather conditions may affect some flight schedules.

Early morning fog formed across parts of the UAE as humid conditions spread overnight. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), fog and mist are expected to persist in some areas through Thursday, while temperatures are set to rise on Tuesday.

The NCM forecasted fair to partly cloudy skies today, with humid conditions overnight and into Tuesday morning, bringing a chance of fog or mist in coastal and inland areas. The authority also urged motorists to exercise caution and follow road safety protocols, as reduced visibility and slippery road surfaces have contributed to a number of incidents on major routes.

Meanwhile, airport operations in Dubai remain largely normal, aside from one flight diversion and minor delays reported at Dubai International Airport (DXB). Passengers are being advised to stay updated with their airlines as weather conditions continue to affect travel across the country.

In Sharjah, authorities issued a passenger advisory due to limited visibility. Sharjah International Airport advised travelers via Instagram to contact their airlines directly to confirm flight statuses, noting that some schedules may be impacted
