Mercury to hit 48°C as UAE faces one of its hottest weeks yet.

Dubai: The UAE is set for another week of intense summer heat, with temperatures expected to reach up to 48°C in some inland areas on Monday. Later in the week, stronger winds are likely to bring dusty conditions and reduced visibility across parts of the country.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), Monday’s weather will be generally fair, with low clouds expected over eastern regions. Winds will remain light to moderate but may strengthen at times, particularly over coastal areas. Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are expected to turn rough by late evening.

Temperatures are expected to range from 43°C to 48°C in inland areas, while coastal and island regions will see highs between 36°C and 42°C. Mountain areas will remain relatively cooler, with temperatures ranging from 32°C to 37°C.

Conditions are expected to shift from Tuesday, with stronger southwesterly to northwesterly winds likely to lift dust across exposed areas. Temperatures are forecast to ease slightly, although blowing dust may reduce visibility in some locations.

Dusty conditions are expected to persist into Wednesday, along with humid weather overnight and into Thursday morning across parts of the coastal areas. Winds may reach speeds of up to 40km/h at times, while sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are expected to remain rough to moderate before gradually improving.

By Thursday and Friday, weather conditions are expected to stabilise, with generally fair skies across much of the country. Humidity levels are likely to increase overnight and during early morning hours in some coastal and inland areas, particularly in western regions, raising the possibility of mist formation.
