Attorney-General cautions that sharing incident videos could trigger panic and legal consequences.

Hamad Saif Al Shamsi has warned the public against photographing, publishing, or circulating images and videos showing incident sites or damage caused by falling projectiles or shrapnel.

He stressed that sharing such materials, or spreading inaccurate information, could incite public panic and create a misleading picture of the situation in the country.

Al Shamsi affirmed that the relevant state institutions are carrying out their responsibilities with high efficiency to ensure community safety. He added that daily life in the UAE continues as normal while authorities take the necessary measures to manage ongoing developments.

He explained that such incidents are handled by the relevant authorities within established security and defence frameworks. Individuals must therefore refrain from filming these locations, as publishing such footage could undermine the response and mitigation efforts of the concerned agencies.

In a statement, Hamad Saif Al Shamsi said that despite earlier warnings from competent authorities, some individuals have continued to film incident sites and share the footage on social media platforms.

He emphasised that publishing or circulating such footage or misleading information constitutes a legal violation if it leads to public panic, the spread of false news, or harm to public order. He urged citizens and residents to refrain from taking or resharing such images, warning that violators could face legal consequences under existing legislation.

Hamad Saif Al Shamsi also cautioned against sharing fabricated videos or scenes generated using artificial intelligence or digital manipulation. This includes content falsely claiming missile strikes, attacks on facilities, or attributing events that never occurred.

He affirmed that fabricating or publishing such content with the intent to mislead the public constitutes a criminal offense. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi warned that the Public Prosecution will take legal action against violators without leniency.

Hamad Saif Al Shamsi urged the public to abide by the law and rely only on official sources for information in order to help safeguard national security and maintain public stability.
