Dubai residents have been advised to take cover following a warning from the Interior Ministry about a potential missile threat.

Dubai: The UAE’s Ministry of Interior has issued an emergency alert across the city, urging residents to take immediate shelter amid warnings of a potential missile threat.
The alert, sent to mobile phones in multiple areas of Dubai, instructed people to move to the nearest secure building and avoid windows, doors, and open spaces until further notice.
The alert stated: “Given the current situation and a potential missile threat, please take immediate shelter in a secure building away from windows, doors, and open spaces, and await official instructions.”
Authorities emphasized that the warnings are purely precautionary and must be followed without delay.
The ministry also warned residents not to prioritize social media content over their personal safety, following reports of people leaving their homes or stopping vehicles to record videos after receiving emergency alerts.
It emphasized that such actions endanger lives and could have legal consequences if they involve disregarding official safety instructions.
The ministry advised motorists who receive the alert while driving not to stop on highways or leave their vehicles abruptly. Instead, drivers should continue to their destination and take shelter in the nearest secure building upon arrival.
The Ministry of Interior stressed that ignoring emergency safety instructions is a legal offence and urged the public to cooperate fully to ensure the effectiveness of the country’s emergency response measures. Authorities also called on residents to rely exclusively on official government channels for updates and further instructions as the situation unfolds.
