Smart cameras are set to be deployed at key locations, including the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Parkin Company, Dubai’s largest paid public parking provider, plans to install 1,000 smart cameras at strategic locations to monitor parking space availability, a senior official said.

“As the exclusive public parking operator in Dubai, our focus is on enhancing the customer experience through operations, fares, and payment solutions. We are investing heavily in technology and smart solutions. These new smart cameras will be deployed soon, marking the first time they are used for on-street parking,” the official added.

“We plan to deploy around 1,000 solar-powered smart cameras in on-street parking areas during the first phase. They can be installed around the Dubai World Trade Centre major events to monitor and manage parking availability,” said Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin Company.

In an interview with Khaleej Times, Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali said the smart cameras will notify customers about available parking before they enter event areas.

“This system will provide real-time information on parking space usage through live video feeds and images, which will be linked to our smart inspection operations room,” he explained. He added that parking forms a key part of infrastructure development and helps address traffic challenges.

EV chargers, self-driving cars, and flying taxis

Parkin also plans to install around 200 electric vehicle (EV) chargers in on-street parking spaces across Dubai2025, Parkin signed an agreement with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority CEO said discussions are ongoing with the Roads and Transport Authority said.
