Heavy morning traffic grips Sharjah-Dubai route from Al Qusais to Al Mamzar.
Dubai: Motorists travelling between Sharjah and Dubai are facing significant delays this Thursday morning, with congestion reported across Al Qusais, Al Nahda and routes leading towards University City.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) is heavily congested in both directions through the Industrial Areas. Traffic is also moving slowly along Maliha Road (S102) and University City Road (S116) near the University of Sharjah roundabout, where an incident has been reported. Several road closures around Al Qusais Industrial Area are adding to the congestion, diverting traffic onto Damascus Street and surrounding roads.
Traffic is similarly slow on Al Ittihad Road (E11) near Al Mamzar and Sahara Centre, where a collision has been reported. Delays are extending through Al Nahda towards Dubai International Airport.
Within Dubai, congestion is building on the city-bound stretch of Sheikh Zayed Road through DIFC and the Financial Centre interchange. Queues are also forming around the Business Bay and Downtown exits, with the approaches to Business Bay Metro Station and junctions serving Burj Khalifa Boulevard among the slowest areas.
Bur Dubai is also experiencing the usual morning congestion, with delays reported at the Al Mina Street junction, along Kuwait Street through Mankhool, and around the intersections near Dubai Frame and Oud Metha. Traffic on Karama’s internal roads is also moving slowly.
Meanwhile, traffic is flowing more freely through Al Quoz towards Al Khail Road. Ras Al Khor Road and the Dubai Design District interchange are also clear in both directions, offering motorists an alternative to Sheikh Zayed Road.
Motorists are advised to check live traffic and navigation updates before starting their journey, avoid sudden lane changes and follow temporary road signs, particularly around work zones.
