Parts of Saudi Arabia expected to see stronger winds and below-average rainfall.
Dubai: Saudi Arabia is set to experience above-average temperatures across most regions in August, according to the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM), with forecasts pointing to a hotter-than-usual continuation of the summer season.
NCM spokesperson Hussain Al Qahtani said climate forecasts suggest temperatures will remain higher than seasonal averages across large parts of the Kingdom as typical summer weather patterns continue.
Rainfall is forecast to remain below average in Jazan, Al Baha and parts of Tabuk, Medina, Mecca, Asir, Najran and the Eastern Province. Meanwhile, precipitation levels across other parts of the Kingdom are expected to stay close to their normal seasonal averages.
The NCM also forecasts above-normal wind speeds across most regions, which could increase the risk of blowing dust and sand in open areas depending on prevailing weather conditions.
Al Qahtani advised residents to stay updated through official NCM forecasts and alerts, follow safety recommendations, and take necessary precautions as the Kingdom prepares for higher temperatures and stronger winds during the month.
