Over 3,500 Participants Turn Out for Fifth Dubai Investments Green Run 2026

Dubai: The streets of Dubai Investments Park (DIP) came alive in a vibrant “sea of green” this past Sunday as more than 3,500 participants gathered for the fifth edition of the Dubai Investments Green Run. Held on 15 February 2026, the event marked half a decade of promoting environmental awareness through community fitness.

What started five years ago as a local initiative has grown into a flagship event on Dubai’s sustainability calendar. This year’s turnout included competitive athletes, corporate teams, school groups, and families—all wearing green T-shirts to symbolize their commitment to a lower-carbon future.

Competition Meets Community

The run featured two categories: a competitive 5 km timed race for serious runners, and a 3 km Fun Run/Walk for families and casual participants. The mix of participants highlighted the event’s inclusive mission, bridging professional sport and grassroots environmental advocacy.

A total of 12 winners were crowned across male and female categories. In addition, AED 22,000 in cash prizes were awarded, alongside special recognition awards for schools and organisations presenting the most creative “Green Messages,” further promoting awareness of sustainability within the community.

More Than Just a Race

The impact of the Green Run extended well beyond the finish line, with the Green Run Village at the Dubai Investments Headquarters serving as the event’s educational and engagement hub. Participants explored wellness programs and interactive environmental workshops, turning the day into both a fitness challenge and a learning experience.

Mohammed Saeed Al Raqbani, Head of the Sustainability Committee at Dubai Investments, highlighted how the initiative has evolved over the years:

“What started as a modest community initiative has evolved into a major annual movement. The growth we’ve seen—in participation, enthusiasm, and environmental awareness—demonstrates the lasting legacy the Dubai Investments Green Run has established over the years.”
