As the Lunar Year begins, we welcome the Year of the Horse and say goodbye to the Year of the Snake.

On Tuesday, February 17, the UAE President extended his greetings to everyone celebrating the Lunar New Year in the UAE and worldwide.
“I send my warmest wishes to all those observing the Lunar New Year in the UAE and across the globe. May the year ahead bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to you and your loved ones,” wrote UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The leader extended his greetings on social media in Arabic, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean, adding a personal touch.
Earlier, the UAE leadership sent congratulatory messages to President Xi Jinping of China on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, also conveyed similar greetings to the Chinese President.
This year, the Lunar New Year ushers in the Year of the Horse, bidding farewell to the Year of the Snake. The festival marks the start of a new year according to lunar calendars and is celebrated for a week across Asia, typically falling between late January and mid-February.
