Explosions Reported Over Kuwait as Iranian Attacks Target US Bases Across Gulf.
Kuwait’s Armed Forces said air defence systems were activated to intercept hostile aerial targets that entered the country’s airspace, as the Gulf nation remained on heightened alert amid the escalating conflict between the United States and Iran.
Military officials said the loud explosions heard in several parts of the country were caused by successful interception operations conducted by Kuwait’s air defence systems.
Authorities urged residents to remain calm and follow official safety instructions as security measures remained in place.
No immediate casualties or major damage were reported following the interceptions.
The latest security alert comes as Kuwait remains closely linked to the regional conflict due to its hosting of key US military facilities, including Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem Air Base.
Iranian retaliatory missile and drone strikes have repeatedly targeted US military facilities across the Gulf in recent days, triggering air defence responses in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and other neighbouring countries.
According to recent official statements, Kuwait has intercepted several ballistic missiles and more than a dozen drones over the past week without any reported fatalities. However, debris from interception operations has caused limited damage to power infrastructure.
The increased military activity follows a new wave of US strikes against Iranian military assets ordered by President Donald Trump after renewed attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, which the US and its Gulf allies have attributed to Tehran.
Iran has vowed further retaliation, raising concerns that Gulf nations could face continued missile and drone threats as regional tensions escalate.
