Jazeera Airways suspends select India routes until May 15, offering refunds to affected passengers.

Date:

Passengers will receive full refunds as the airline suspends select routes until May 15.

Dubai: Travelers between Kuwait and several Indian cities are facing disruptions after Jazeera Airways suspended services on nine routes, with cancellations set to continue for over a month due to operational challenges.

Jazeera Airways has announced that flights to and from Coimbatore, Goa, Kannur, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangaluru, Tiruchirappalli, and Vijayawada will remain suspended from April 10 through May 15. The suspension affects both outbound and inbound travel, impacting a mix of leisure routes and high-demand expatriate corridors frequently used by Gulf-based Indian residents.

Refunds and rebooking
Passengers holding tickets on the affected routes will receive full refunds. Bookings made through travel agents will be converted into a credit shell, while direct bookings via the airline’s website or app can be refunded through the same platform.

The airline has also urged travelers flying to other Indian destinations to verify schedules before traveling, as ongoing network adjustments continue to affect operations.

“We sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience caused by these cancellations. Such decisions are never taken lightly and are driven by operational circumstances beyond our control. Despite these challenges, our commitment remains steadfast. We continue to serve eight destinations in India through our operational base in Dammam, supported by nearly 500 dedicated Jazeera employees working tirelessly to provide a safe and reliable travel experience. Our focus remains on maintaining connectivity and delivering the best possible service to our passengers,” said Barathan Pasupathi, Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways.

Maintaining routes via Dammam helps preserve connectivity, though it may result in longer travel times or fewer direct options for passengers accustomed to departures from Kuwait.

What travelers should watch
Airlines across the region are adjusting schedules in response to shifting operational conditions, resulting in more last-minute changes. Passengers are advised to stay updated on flight status, particularly on routes with high seasonal demand.

The current suspension extends into mid-May, a period that typically sees peak travel demand from expatriates, increasing the likelihood of limited seat availability and higher fares on alternative carriers.
