GlobeMed Gulf Launches and GlobeMed Syria Returns as Group Celebrates 35th Anniversary.

Dubai: GlobeMed Group, a leading healthcare benefits management group in the MENA region, hosted a reception attended by more than 300 senior executives from the UAE’s insurance and healthcare sectors. The gathering brought together insurers, brokers, reinsurance brokers, healthcare providers and GlobeMed executives from across the region.

Held under the auspices of GlobeMed Group Chairman Michel Pharaon, Vice Chairman Roger Nasnas and members of the Board, the event celebrated the launch of GlobeMed Gulf, the group’s return to Syria through GlobeMed Syria, and its 35th anniversary.

The reception also marked the announcement of service contracts with leading UAE insurance companies, underscoring GlobeMed’s commitment to strengthening healthcare benefits management through local partnerships, regional expertise and continued innovation.

“For 35 years, GlobeMed has served as a trusted TPA, exercising fair and balanced judgment among stakeholders in the medical insurance industry,” said Michel Pharaon. “Guided by our founding values of fairness, sound judgment, transparency and confidentiality, we combine the efficiency and expertise of dedicated teams with continuously evolving technology. Today, we are a pan-Arab group operating to international standards of compliance and corporate governance.”

Pharaon added: “It was only natural to boost our presence in the UAE, in view of its importance in the regional medical insurance market, its robust judicial system, and its remarkable success as an international business hub.”

Outlining the vision for GlobeMed Gulf, CEO Nada Majdalani said: “As an independent player with a presence across the Gulf and MENA, our ambition is to shape the future of healthcare through trusted partnerships, innovation, and transparency, creating lasting value for insurers, healthcare providers, and members alike.”

A pioneer of the third-party administration (TPA) model in the region, GlobeMed brings 35 years of healthcare management experience across 12 markets and processes more than $3 billion in claims annually.

Over the past year, the group has resumed its operations in Syria, establishing a network of 4,300 healthcare providers, while launching GlobeMed Gulf’s operations in the UAE. These developments further strengthen its regional presence and expand its footprint across the MENA healthcare sector.

Within its first year of operations, GlobeMed Gulf has completed the integration of its healthcare provider network across the UAE, signed agreements with insurance clients and begun delivering services to both local and international customers.

The company builds on the Group’s extensive experience, established partnerships and significant investment in research, technology and systems development. It also benefits from GlobeMed’s regional and international reach through Globe Assist.

Globe Assist connects members to more than 24,000 healthcare providers across GlobeMed’s markets and over 120,000 providers worldwide. The service complements GlobeMed Gulf’s local capabilities by offering cross-border healthcare access and assistance.

Before the reception, GlobeMed hosted its Regional Executive Seminar, bringing together senior executives from across its operations to discuss sustainable growth, operational best practices, resilience amid geopolitical challenges and compliance with increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.

A key topic at the seminar was the phased rollout of GENIX, GlobeMed’s next-generation platform, representing another milestone in the Group’s digital transformation. Discussions also focused on a comprehensive strategy to integrate artificial intelligence across core systems, services and workforce practices, supported by a dedicated AI transformation department.

The Dubai event highlighted GlobeMed Gulf’s role within a regional group managing healthcare coverage for more than 27 million people. It also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to leveraging the Group’s scale and experience to build strong local partnerships, strengthen operational excellence and drive continued innovation.
