Motorists advised to maintain safe following distances, adhere to speed limits and refrain from unnecessary honking.

Fujairah: Fujairah Police have called on drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations, maintain a safe distance between vehicles and remain patient behind the wheel as the emirate experiences increased traffic congestion and frequent movement of trucks and commercial vehicles.

In its latest road safety advisory, Fujairah Police General Headquarters emphasised the need for cautious and responsible driving, urging motorists to avoid reckless behaviour that could endanger their safety and that of other road users.

Under the slogan “Your Safety Is Our Responsibility, Safe Driving Is Everyone’s Responsibility,” Fujairah Police issued a set of essential road safety guidelines aimed at reducing accidents and ensuring smoother traffic movement across the emirate.

Authorities emphasised the importance of complying with speed limits and keeping a safe distance from vehicles ahead. These precautions give motorists adequate time to react and brake safely in the event of sudden traffic slowdowns or unexpected stops.

Drivers were also advised to refrain from excessive or aggressive honking intended to pressure other motorists into giving way. Police encouraged road users to demonstrate patience, courtesy and consideration, particularly during periods of heavy congestion.

The advisory further highlighted the importance of maintaining proper lane discipline. Motorists were reminded to stay within their designated lanes and exercise additional caution when travelling near trucks, commercial vehicles and heavy machinery.

The safety campaign is part of Fujairah Police’s continued efforts to enhance road safety, ease traffic congestion and encourage responsible driving habits throughout the emirate.

Reaffirming their dedication to community safety, Fujairah Police concluded with the message: “We work for your safety and happiness.”
