Flight EY647 returns to Abu Dhabi as Etihad cancels two Bahrain services.

وأضاف آريك: “بالإضافة إلى ذلك، ستتيح الرحلات الجديدة بأوقاتها النهارية والليلة للمسافرين من كوالالمبو من الوصول إلى أبوظبي بالحصول على المزيد من الخيارات لاستكشاف ما تقدمه المدينة من فرص على مستوى الأعمال والترفيه.. ويأتي ذلك في إطار التزامنا بجذب المزيد من الضيوف للاستمتاع بأبوظبي، وتعزيز الربط بين شبكتنا العالمية المتنامية”.
وسيتم تشغيل الرحلتين اليوميتين على طائرات بوينج 787-9 دريملاينر المتطورة والمزودة بالاتصال بالانترنت Wi-Fi.
وستوفر الرحلتين معاً 425,000 مقعد سنويًا بين أبوظبي وكوالالمبور، مما يمثل زيادة سنوية في الطاقة المقعدية بنسبة 75 في المائة.
وسترفع الرحلة الاضافية من سعة الشحن السنوية، مما يفتح المزيد من الفرص التجارية ويدعم نمو التجارة المتبادلة.
وستساهم هذه الخطوة للعملاء بالاستمتاع بالمزيد من الخيارات ورحلات ربط أفضل بين أبوظبي ومنطقة جنوب شرق آسيا خلال موسم الشتاء، حيث ستوفر الاتحاد للطيران ما يصل إلى 77 رحلة أسبوعية بين أبوظبي وكوالالمبور (14 رحلة أسبوعية)، و 14 رحلة أسبوعية إلى كل من بانكوك وبوكيت ومانيلا وجاكرتا، وسبع رحلات أسبوعية إلى سنغافورة.
ويأتي هذا الاعلان بعد أن كشفت الناقلة عن عزمها لتعزيز شامل لشبكة وجهاتها، وخططها لرسم توسع مستدام في الوقت الذي تحسن فيه من ربط أبوظبي بالأسواق العالمية وتعززمن صناعة السياحة في العاصمة. ويتضمن جدول الشتاء للاتحاد للطيران، وجهات جديدة وزيادة في تردد الرحلات وأوقات مغادرة أكثر ملائمة.
Dubai: An Etihad Airways flight from Abu Dhabi to Bahrain returned to its departure airport in the early hours of Thursday, leading the airline to cancel two scheduled services between the UAE and Bahrain later in the day.
Flight EY647, which departed Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport for Bahrain International Airport on July 16, returned to Abu Dhabi after operations at Bahrain airport were disrupted amid the escalating US-Iran conflict.
Following the disruption, Etihad cancelled both the outbound EY647 service from Abu Dhabi to Bahrain and the return EY648 flight from Bahrain to Abu Dhabi scheduled for the same day.
Etihad Airways said it is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to keep affected passengers informed with the latest operational updates.
The Abu Dhabi-based carrier apologised for the disruption, adding that the “safety and comfort of our guests and crew remain our highest priority.”
Etihad typically operates up to five non-stop flights each day in each direction between Abu Dhabi and Bahrain, although schedules vary by season and day of the week. According to the airline’s booking platform, the remaining services on Thursday are expected to operate as scheduled.
The disruption comes as airlines across the Middle East continue to adjust operations amid the escalating conflict involving Iran, the US and Israel, which has affected airspace and flight schedules across the region.
What happened?
According to flight tracking data from Flightradar24, several flights to and from Bahrain were disrupted in the early hours of July 16. A Fly Jinnah flight was diverted to Dammam, while an Air India service from Kozhikode experienced delays.
Bahrain’s Interior Ministry said it activated warning sirens and urged citizens and residents to remain calm and take shelter in the nearest safe location.
The latest disruption adds to a growing number of flight delays, diversions and cancellations across the Middle East as airlines continue to adjust operations in response to the evolving regional security situation.
The UAE has strongly condemned the latest Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan.
The conflict has intensified significantly following the collapse of the interim ceasefire reached in mid-June, leading to renewed military action and widespread disruption across the region.
Hostilities resumed after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. In response, US President Donald Trump declared the mid-June peace memorandum void, reinstated a strict naval blockade on Iranian ports and ordered large-scale, multi-wave airstrikes, triggering a sharp escalation in the conflict.
