Emirati Women’s Day honours women’s legacy of strength, unity and global storytelling.
Dubai: Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, said Emirati Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Emirati women and the strong foundations that have empowered generations to learn, contribute and take on leadership roles.
In a statement marking the occasion, Sheikha Latifa said this year’s decision to extend the celebrations into a month of reflection and inspiration under the theme “We Emerge Stronger and Better” offers a meaningful opportunity to honour the vision and legacy of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the “Mother of the Nation”, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation.
She noted that Sheikha Fatima’s belief in the potential of Emirati women continues through every woman who serves her community, pursues her ambitions and creates new opportunities for future generations.
Sheikha Latifa added that Emirati women are helping shape stories that connect the UAE’s heritage with creativity and imagination while carrying the nation’s voice to audiences around the world. Their journeys, she said, demonstrate how individual growth can contribute to collective progress when women are supported by families, communities and institutions that recognise and nurture their potential.
Sheikha Latifa emphasised the importance of hearing women’s experiences, nurturing the aspirations of young girls and creating opportunities that enable every woman to contribute confidently to society.
She concluded by saying that honouring previous generations of women means supporting and believing in those who will follow, while carrying forward a legacy of strength grounded in identity, strengthened by unity and inspired by the opportunities of the future.
