Emirates Health Services introduces ‘Ekram’ bundle, combining 40 procedures into a single step.

EHS states that the bundle streamlines care by cutting down on repeated visits and paperwork.

Emirates Health Services (EHS) has launched a new smart service bundle, combining 40 government procedures into a single step and saving customers over 157,000 working hours.

The initiative, called the “Ekram Bundle”, was developed in collaboration with 77 federal and local partner entities. It is designed to simplify processes related to death procedures, offering families a smoother and more supportive experience during challenging times.

According to EHS, the bundle eliminates the need for multiple visits and paperwork by providing an integrated digital process. Officials noted that the initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to reducing bureaucracy and enhancing the customer experience.

Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, Director-General of EHS, said the project aligns with the leadership’s vision of providing government services that exceed community expectations and enhance quality of life.

He added that the initiative supports long-term national goals, including the UAE Centennial 2071, by promoting service excellence and eliminating unnecessary procedures

“The Ekram Bundle goes beyond digitalisation,” said Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, Director-General of EHS. “It reflects our values in protecting human dignity while ensuring services are delivered quickly and accurately.”

Dr. Shamsa Lootah, Director of the Public Health Department at EHS, added that the service also provides psychological and guidance support for bereaved families. The bundle is available to citizens, residents, and visitors, with plans to extend coverage to cases involving Emirati citizens who pass away abroad.

An executive taskforce, including representatives from partner entities, reviewed the full customer journey prior to launch. EHS confirmed that weekly progress reports and a clear implementation plan are in place to ensure continuous improvement.

What the Ekram Bundle Includes

The service begins with death notification and the issuance of death certificates and burial permits. It also covers condolence arrangements, pension and financial entitlements, and logistical support for families.

Instead of navigating multiple government entities, families can now access these services through a unified platform designed to reduce time, effort, and emotional stress.

EHS described the bundle as a model of integrated government work, combining efficiency with compassion. Officials noted that similar proactive service models may be introduced in other areas to further enhance the customer experience across the UAE.
