Emirates has announced its updated July schedule, adding more flights between Dubai and Ghana.

Date:

The new services increase Emirates’ frequency to 11 weekly flights from Accra, operated using Boeing 777 aircraft.

Dubai: Emirates will introduce four additional weekly flights between Dubai and Accra starting July 12, increasing its total frequency on the route to 11 flights per week.

The additional services will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, complementing Emirates’ existing daily flights between Dubai and Accra.

The new flights will operate as EK789 from Dubai to Accra, departing at 3:30am and arriving at 7:40am local time. The return service, EK790, will depart Accra at 10:25am and arrive in Dubai at 10:40pm.

The flights will be operated using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The expansion comes as major Middle Eastern carriers continue restoring capacity following disruptions caused by regional conflict earlier this year.

According to flight tracking data cited in a Reuters report, overall flight activity across the Middle East has recovered to around 82% of pre-conflict levels. Emirates, along with Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways, has seen operations steadily return toward pre-conflict capacity, with Emirates reportedly operating at about 86% of its previous traffic levels.

Dubai–Ghana Demand

Emirates said there is growing demand for travel between Dubai and Ghana, which has driven the expansion of its flight schedule.

The airline noted that the updated timetable will give passengers from Ghana improved connectivity through Dubai to destinations including Beijing, Seoul, Sydney, Perth, Mumbai, Singapore, New York JFK, and Jeddah.

Travellers connecting to Accra via Dubai will also benefit from additional onward options from cities such as Delhi, Boston, Los Angeles, as well as various gateways across Germany and the UK.

“For more than two decades, Emirates has proudly connected Ghana to the world,” said Salem Almana, Emirates’ Country Manager for Ghana.

“The introduction of this additional service demonstrates continued confidence in the Ghanaian market and a commitment to supporting the country’s growing travel demand,” the airline said.

He added that the expansion is expected to strengthen business, tourism, and trade links between Ghana and destinations across Emirates’ global network.

Beyond passenger operations, the additional flights will also increase cargo capacity between Ghana and Dubai through Emirates SkyCargo. The cargo arm currently transports fresh-cut fruit from Ghana to European destinations such as Prague and Zurich, along with other goods including electronics, textiles, and pharmaceuticals.

The additional bellyhold capacity will enable increased cargo movement between Ghana and international markets, supporting exporters and businesses that rely on air freight connections via Dubai.
