Strategically located in Al Hilal City, the Fujairah passenger station is just a short distance from the emirate’s major attractions and airport.

Etihad Rail’s first completed passenger station in Fujairah is expected to enhance connectivity and support tourism and business activity once passenger services are fully rolled out, a senior company executive said.
Adhraa Almansoori, Executive Director of Commercial at Etihad Rail, said the Al Hilal City station is strategically positioned to serve as a major transport hub for the emirate, linking it to the planned national passenger rail network connecting 11 cities and regions across the UAE.
She added that the station’s proximity to key landmarks — including Umbrella Beach, Sakamkam Fort, and Fujairah International Airport — makes it “a gateway to everything that Fujairah has to offer.”
“Once services are fully operational, this station will be among the first connecting 11 cities and regions across the UAE — driving tourism, supporting businesses, and delivering economic impact to Fujairah,” she said.
According to Almansoori, the Etihad Rail network is expected to reshape investment patterns across the UAE.
“We believe the way people think about investment and real estate will change — across healthcare, education, culture, and tourism — because it will allow people to explore the UAE differently,” she said.
The Fujairah station is one of three major stations set to open this year, alongside Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Eventually, the network will connect 11 stations across 11 regions nationwide.
“We are excited to grow into what we believe will become an iconic project that serves generations to come,” she added.
Passenger services are scheduled for a phased rollout beginning in 2026, with the network expected to carry up to 10 million passengers annually once fully operational.
Passenger experience
Passenger trains will operate at speeds of up to 200 km/h, reducing travel time between Dubai and Fujairah to around 69 minutes, compared with more than 90 minutes by road. The Abu Dhabi–Fujairah journey is expected to take approximately 105 minutes.
“The greatest value passengers will gain from rail travel is time — and the ability to use it productively,” Almansoori said. She added that business travellers, employees, and families will be able to “arrive refreshed and ready to take on the day.”
The 51,900-square-metre terminal has been built using around 70% locally sourced materials and will feature retail outlets, food and beverage services, and accessibility-focused facilities. According to the company, trains will accommodate around 400 passengers across two classes and include Wi-Fi, power outlets, and luggage storage areas.
Almansoori said the train cabins were designed with passenger comfort as a priority.
“When we think about families travelling together, every detail matters,” she said. “From generous legroom and dedicated space for larger baggage to seating layouts designed with families in mind, the goal is to make travelling across the UAE feel calm, comfortable, and genuinely easy.”
She added that the company recognises this will be many residents’ first rail travel experience.
“That is why significant attention has gone into the station experience — from clear signage and comfortable spaces to staff trained to assist passengers,” she said. “We want every passenger, regardless of age or background, to feel genuinely welcomed from the moment they arrive.”
