RTA and Dubai Airports Explore Traffic Solutions and Integrated Transport Plans as Dubai World Central and Dubai South Expand.
Dubai is strengthening coordination between its transport infrastructure and airports, with authorities reviewing traffic improvements around Dubai International Airport (DXB) and future mobility plans for Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Airports discussed measures to ease traffic along key routes serving DXB. The talks also focused on how road networks and public transport systems can accommodate anticipated growth around DWC and the wider Dubai South area.
The discussions were held between Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, and Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, as part of the ongoing strategic partnership between the two organisations.
The talks centred on improving connections between Dubai’s airports and the broader transport network to make passenger journeys smoother and more efficient. Authorities also discussed ensuring future infrastructure development keeps pace with the emirate’s growing population, rising visitor numbers and continued urban expansion.
Al Tayer said closer integration between Dubai’s transport and aviation networks is an important part of the emirate’s strategy to strengthen its role as a global centre for business, tourism and air travel.
He noted that Dubai continues to invest in world-class infrastructure designed to meet its long-term ambitions and support sustainable growth in line with the leadership’s vision.
Al Tayer also emphasised the growing importance of Dubai World Central (DWC) and Dubai South in RTA’s long-term transport strategy, particularly as development across the area continues to accelerate.
Transport Network to Keep Pace With Dubai’s Growth
RTA is collaborating with its strategic partners to develop an integrated system combining road infrastructure with various forms of public transport. The network is intended to adapt to evolving travel patterns and increasing demand across Dubai.
