Dubai Police intensify operations and safety measures amid severe weather conditions.

Dubai: Dubai Police have rolled out a full-scale emergency response plan to tackle the ongoing low-pressure weather system, prioritising coordination, technology use, and heightened field readiness to protect the public, a senior official said.
Brigadier Turki Abdulrahman bin Fares, Director of the General Department of Operations at Dubai Police, explained that the force had prepared for the unstable weather through multiple operational pillars, starting with proactive coordination with strategic partners and the creation of response plans to manage rainwater accumulation and possible disruptions.
He added that readiness at the command and control centre had been elevated to full operational capacity, complemented by the deployment of specialised digital platforms to continuously monitor weather conditions across the emirate.
One of these platforms specifically monitors flooded streets and intersections, with real-time data also linked to navigation apps like Waze, enabling the public to find safe and accessible routes.
In addition, a new platform allows the public to submit assistance requests directly, speeding up response times and improving the coordination of emergency teams.
On the ground, Dubai Police have increased patrols at key intersections and areas prone to waterlogging, guiding traffic toward safer routes.
Search and rescue teams have been put on high alert, ready to respond immediately to any emergencies arising from the adverse weather conditions.
Brigadier bin Fares advised residents to reserve the emergency number 999 for urgent situations only, directing non-urgent inquiries to the 901 call centre.
