Lyricist Vivek has thrown in several references to Rajinikanth’s achievements in Darbar song Chumma Kizhi, which celebrates the larger-than-life stature of its subject.
Iconic singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has sung many introduction songs for Superstar Rajinikanth. In fact, it has for long remained a tradition of sorts. And the practice continues with Darbar also. The first single from the upcoming Rajinikanth-starrer dropped on Wednesday. Composer Anirudh Ravichander has come up with another crackling opening song titled Chumma Kizhi, which is a Tamil equivalent of ‘just kill it.’
Lyricist Vivek has thrown in several references to Rajinikanth’s achievements in the song, which celebrates the larger-than-life stature of its subject. The song pays tribute to all things Rajinikanth, including his name, and dark complexion.
Darbar is Anirudh Ravichander’s second consecutive collaboration with Rajinikanth after Petta, which came out earlier this year.
Darbar is written and directed by AR Murugadoss. It is getting ready to open in cinemas for Pongal next year.
