Coronavirus in UAE: Parks, clubs closed temporarily.

Date:

Precautionary measure implemented to prevent the spread of any infection.

A number of public parks as well as night clubs in the emirates of Sharjah and Abu Dhabi respectively have been closed temporarily to limit the spread of Covid-19. A circular issued by the Department of Culture and Tourism on Friday stated that nightclubs and tourist restaurants in Abu Dhabi will be shut-down with immediate effect until the end of March to restrict further cases of coronavirus. “All our clubs are shut until further notice. However, pubs are open. We have to avoid large gatherings,” a manager of a hotel chain told.

In a tweet on Friday evening, the Sharjah Municipality also confirmed the closure of a number of parks in the emirate until further notice as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of any infection. The closure included the Sharjah National Park, Al Mahatta Park, Abu Shagarah Park, Al Fayha 1&2 Parks, Al Nahda Park, Al Mamzar Park, Al Safiya Park, Al Nasiriyah Park, Al Manakh Park, Al Nad Park, and the Green Belt Ladies Park and Al Fisht Park.

The closure of these parks is among the steps the civic authority has been taking in the wake of the Covid-19.

These directives follow the recent ban imposed on hotels and cafes from serving shisha in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
