“Chicago the Musical” announces its Dubai run, including performance dates and ticket information.

Date:

The story centres on two ambitious women who end up sharing a prison cell block.

“Chicago the Musical” is set to bring its iconic “Cell Block Tango” to the Coca-Cola Arena Dubai, with eight performances scheduled over five days. This will mark the first time a Broadway production takes over the arena stage.

Set in the Jazz Age, the musical offers a satirical take on fame, fortune, and crime, blending sharp humour with striking choreography. The story follows two ambitious women who end up sharing a prison cell block, unfolding amid the glitz and drama of 1920s Chicago.

Roxie Hart is a nightclub dancer with big ambitions for fame—and a notorious habit of shooting her lovers—while Velma Kelly is a sharp, cynical vaudeville star who turns her murder trial into a publicity opportunity.

Instead of battling the justice system, the two women end up competing for media attention, each trying to dominate newspaper headlines in 1920s Chicago. Through manipulation of the press, the courts, and those around them, they pursue celebrity status at any cost, highlighting the era’s obsession with fame and notoriety.

“Chicago the Musical” will be staged at the Coca-Cola Arena Dubai, bringing the multi–Tony Award-winning production—widely recognised as the longest-running American musical in Broadway and West End history—to the region.

Audiences can look forward to iconic numbers such as “All That Jazz,” the high-energy “Cell Block Tango,” and “Razzle Dazzle.”

“Chicago the Musical” will run from December 16 to 20 at the Coca-Cola Arena Dubai.

Tickets are available via the official Coca-Cola Arena website.
