CBSE Releases Special Class 12 Exam Timetable for Students in Gulf Countries Affected by Conflict

Date:

Students Can Download Admit Cards Using Their Original Application Login Credentials.

Dubai: Class 12 students in the UAE and other Gulf countries who missed their CBSE board examinations earlier this year because of regional conflict will have an opportunity to take special examinations from October 23 to 28, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced.

The revised examination schedule was published in an official circular dated October 8, signed by CBSE Controller of Examinations Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj.

According to the board, eligible candidates can download their admit cards from October 12 using the same login credentials they used during the application process.

Special Exams Offer Students a Chance to Improve Marks

The special examinations are intended for students who wish to improve the scores awarded to them through CBSE’s alternative assessment scheme.

The board introduced the special assessment arrangement in March after escalating conflict in the Middle East led to the cancellation of Class 12 examinations in 40 subjects, including 20 academic subjects.

The cancellations affected CBSE-affiliated schools across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Iran.

Under the alternative assessment system, results for regular Class 12 candidates in the affected countries were announced on May 13, alongside the results of students in India and other regions.

However, students dissatisfied with their assessed marks were offered an opportunity to appear for written examinations in subjects where the original board exams could not be conducted.

One Examination Centre Established in Each Country

In September, CBSE invited eligible students to register for the special examinations through the List of Candidates (LOC), allowing them to select the subjects they intended to retake.

Based on the registrations received, the board has arranged one examination centre in each participating country.

CBSE has clarified that marks obtained in these special examinations will be considered final and will replace the scores previously awarded under the alternative assessment scheme.

CBSE Class 12 Special Examination Schedule

The examinations will begin on Friday, October 23, with Political Science, Economics, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics.

On Saturday, October 24, students will appear for Psychology, Business Studies and Physical Activity Trainer.

The Physical Activity Trainer examination will be conducted over two hours, from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.

The special examination window will continue until October 28, giving affected students an opportunity to obtain marks based on their performance in written examinations.

CBSE Special Examinations to Conclude on October 28

Following a break on Sunday, October 25, the special examination schedule will resume on Monday, October 26, with Biology, Information Technology, Marketing and Multimedia.

The Artificial Intelligence examination is also scheduled for October 26 and will be conducted over two hours, from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.

On Tuesday, October 27, students will appear for Home Science, Informatics Practices and Computer Science.

The special examination series will conclude on Wednesday, October 28, with the English Core paper.

Except for Physical Activity Trainer and Artificial Intelligence, which have a two-hour duration, all examinations will be held from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm.

Students are advised to review the complete examination timetable and regularly check the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in, for the latest announcements, instructions and updates regarding the special examinations.
