European Budget Airline Transavia Suspends Flights to Dubai Until February 12

One of Europe’s leading low-cost carriers, Transavia, has suspended all flights to and from Dubai International Airport until Thursday, February 12.

The Dutch airline, a subsidiary of KLM and part of the Air France-KLM Group, cited the current geopolitical situation in the Gulf region as the reason for the cancellations. Initially, Transavia had hoped to resume flights on Wednesday, February 11, but the suspension has now been extended by an additional day.

Transavia, which operates its main hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol along with other Dutch cities and three French bases, confirmed that passengers affected by the cancellations would be contacted via SMS and email.

In a statement on Tuesday, February 10, the airline emphasized that the safety of passengers and crew remains its top priority, while it continues to monitor the situation in the region.

Transavia Cancels Dubai Flights Amid Regional Precautions

Transavia’s recent suspension of flights to Dubai International Airport (DXB) comes amid broader precautionary cancellations by major European carriers.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines had previously cancelled all flights to DXB on January 27 and 28, while Air France briefly suspended its service but resumed operations on January 24. Meanwhile, Emirates recently cancelled flights to several U.S. destinations due to Storm Fern, affecting travel to New York, Washington DC, Boston, Dallas, and Newark.

Passengers affected by Transavia’s ongoing cancellations can choose to refund their ticket, rebook for a later date, or switch to another destination within 14 days of the original flight. Although the suspension is currently in place until Thursday, February 12, travelers with flights booked through Saturday, February 25 are also eligible for free rebooking.
