Manama praises UAE-brokered Russia-Ukraine prisoner swap, securing the release of 206 detainees.

MANAMA: Bahrain has welcomed the success of the United Arab Emirates’ mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine, which led to a new prisoner exchange involving 206 detainees from both sides.
In a statement, Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the exchange as a positive humanitarian development that could support de-escalation efforts and strengthen prospects for a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine crisis.
The ministry praised the UAE’s diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, noting that its mediation has helped secure the release of 7,997 captives through 26 exchange rounds since the outbreak of the conflict.
Bahrain also reaffirmed its support for regional and international initiatives aimed at ending the war, reducing its humanitarian consequences, and advancing security, stability and lasting peace.
