Tourism Services Continue Smoothly, Offering Support to Guests Affected by Travel Disruptions.

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has confirmed that all hotels, attractions, and tourism experiences across the emirate are operating normally and continue to welcome visitors.

In statements to the media, the department emphasized that tourism services remain fully operational. It added that it is coordinating closely with government entities to support visitors in the UAE, as well as tourism partners, employees, and residents.

The department has recently instructed hotels across the emirate to extend stays for guests unable to travel due to current circumstances. A circular sent to hotel managers specifies that guests whose check-out dates have passed may remain in their rooms until they are able to depart.

Officials confirmed that the tourism authority will cover the cost of extended stays, ensuring visitors are fully supported during this period.

Strong Tourism Performance
Abu Dhabi’s tourism sector has maintained steady growth. According to the Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi, using data from the Department of Culture and Tourism, hotels in the emirate welcomed approximately 5.4 million guests during the first 11 months of last year.

Total hotel revenues in Abu Dhabi reached Dh7.83 billion, with the average occupancy rate at approximately 81.2%.

As of last November, the emirate had 172 hotel establishments offering a total of 34,551 hotel units, according to the data.

Progress Toward Tourism Strategy 2030
Officials said these figures demonstrate progress toward the Abu Dhabi Tourism Strategy 2030 goals, which include:

  • Attracting 39.3 million visitors annually
  • Creating approximately 178,000 jobs in the tourism sector
  • Expanding hotel capacity to 50,000 rooms
  • Contributing Dh90 billion to the emirate’s GDP by 2030

UAE Tourism Sector Remains Strong

The UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism has confirmed that the country continues to offer a robust tourism experience, even amid regional challenges.

The ministry noted that the UAE’s tourism sector currently includes around 1,260 hotels and over 40,000 companies operating across tourism-related industries.

Authorities emphasized that government entities are working closely with tourism partners, hotels, and travel companies to ensure the safety and comfort of visitors while maintaining smooth travel experiences.

Support for Visitors

Officials confirmed that emergency measures are in place to assist tourists affected by flight delays or suspensions. These measures include coordination with embassies and diplomatic missions to help visitors return safely to their home countries.

Accommodation, hospitality services, and logistical support are being provided in collaboration with hotels and the private sector.

The ministry added that hotels, attractions, and shopping centres across the UAE continue to operate normally while maintaining safety and service standards. Authorities are also coordinating closely with the General Civil Aviation Authority to monitor developments and support the gradual resumption of normal air traffic operations.
