The dual carriageway will connect Al Ain with the Al Sarouj area and the Al Ain Industrial Area.

Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport has started construction on a Dh291.11 million dual carriageway connecting the Al Sarouj district with the Al Ain Industrial Area, as part of broader efforts to ease traffic congestion and support urban expansion in the city.
The project is scheduled for completion by the end of June 2027 and aligns with the department’s wider infrastructure strategy focused on improving mobility, enhancing road safety, and raising overall quality of life for residents in Al Ain.
Eng. Abdulla Hamdan Al Ameri, Executive Director of the Al Ain Infrastructure Sector, said the new road will stretch 3.2 km in each direction, linking the Al Masoud Interchange in the industrial area with a newly signalised junction at Al Saqr Roundabout on the Al Sarouj–Industrial Area corridor in Al Ain.
The project includes major intersections, a box culvert for stormwater drainage, and a 120-metre tunnel through Jabal Al Naqfa, designed in line with international engineering and safety standards.
According to the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport, the scheme will also feature integrated infrastructure works such as rainwater drainage systems, modern street lighting, and directional signage. It will include a 5.2 km cycling track, 6 km of pedestrian walkways, and six bus stops to support more sustainable, multi-modal transport options.
In addition, around 500 trees will be planted along the corridor as part of broader landscaping efforts to improve environmental quality and urban aesthetics. The project is expected to ease congestion, reduce travel times, and support Al Ain’s ongoing urban growth by improving connectivity between residential and industrial zones.
