Innovative initiative earns Abu Dhabi Chamber top sustainability honour.

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) has received a major sustainability honour, highlighting its efforts to encourage responsible business practices across the private sector.
The Chamber won the “Best Sustainability Initiative” award at the 10th Abu Dhabi Sustainable Business Leadership Awards for its Sustainability Label programme.
The initiative is designed to help private-sector companies assess their performance across environmental, social and governance (ESG) areas, identify opportunities for improvement and gain recognition as they advance their sustainability practices.
Abu Dhabi team efforts
The awards ceremony was organised by the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group, part of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi. The award was presented by the agency’s Secretary General, Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, and received by Abu Dhabi Chamber Director-General Ali Mohamed Al Marzooqi.
The awards attract companies from across the Gulf region, placing the Chamber’s Sustainability Label among initiatives recognised for their contribution to sustainable business practices.
Al Marzooqi said the award reflects the efforts of the Chamber’s team as well as the initiative’s role in helping businesses translate sustainability goals into practical measures.
He said the programme is designed to help companies prepare for evolving expectations from markets, investors and supply chains. Strengthening companies’ sustainability capabilities, he added, will also contribute to building a more resilient and competitive private sector in Abu Dhabi.
The Chamber now plans to further develop the Sustainability Label and make the initiative accessible to a wider range of businesses.
