Retail plots in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain open for bidding by Emirati firms.

Abu Dhabi: New community markets are planned for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, as authorities launch a public tender inviting Emirati businesses to develop and operate neighbourhood retail hubs.
The initiative is being led by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) in partnership with the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) under the Musataha programme, according to a statement issued Monday.
The tender includes four commercial plots aimed at bringing everyday retail, dining, and essential services closer to residential communities.
Two prime locations have been earmarked: Al Sader in Abu Dhabi (15,861 sqm) and Al Noud in Wadi Al Ain 2, Al Ain (16,016 sqm).
The projects aim to establish convenient, community-oriented shopping destinations within residential neighbourhoods.
Only fully Emirati-owned businesses registered with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development are eligible to apply.
Interested bidders can access tender documents and submit proposals via ADIO’s Investment Map platform, with a deadline of 11 May 2026.
Authorities note that this initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen local retail and enhance everyday access to services in expanding residential areas.
