Fifty artists belonging to different countries like India, Pakistan, Lebanon, Egypt, UAE, Morocco, Bulgaria, Tunisia, Syria, and more, have joined hands for SALAM RAMADAN.2, a virtual art exhibition, to welcome and celebrate Ramadan. The exhibition will open on Thursday (April 23) and is the brainchild of Funun arts, a non-profitable art community, founded by sisters Shiba Khan and Farah Khan.

“Ramadan teaches us about the values of patience, kindness, tolerance, love and happiness; and the motive of this exhibition is to spread positivity and happiness in this pandemic situation,” said Shiba, an artist herself, “The message of SALAM RAMADAN.2 is that no matter how much darkness is around us, in this journey of life there is always light at some point.” Farah, a designer and photographer added, “Art is the pillar of strength and the centrifugal force of our worlds. It (art) has always prevailed, even in times of hardship.”

Art is the best form of expression and the works spell out the virtues of the holy month. You will be left in awe as you ‘visit’ the exhibition showcasing works inspired by mosques, Arabic calligraphy, prayer beads, local architecture and more. “The beauty of social media and technology is that we can bring art into your homes while following the social distancing rule. Stay home and enjoy this virtual tour of the beautiful world of art and artists,” said the participating artists in chorus.

The exhibition will virtually open at 7pm on their Facebook page
