Residents of Dubai’s Duja Tower have thanked a nearby luxury hotel for hosting them after a fire broke out in their building on Thursday night.

Taking to Twitter, a UAE-based culture blogger @wanderwithnada thanked Sheraton Grand Hotel in Dubai for setting up a room full of beds for those affected by the fire in Duja Tower.

She posted a picture of the makeshift room lined with their hotel beds.

Other residents replied on the post acknowledging the hotel’s humble gesture and hospitality.

Earlier on Thursday night, Dubai Media Office confirmed a fire in Duja Tower opposite World Trade Centre that was put out by the Civil Defence by around 9.30 pm. In videos shared online, the fire spread across the external facade, however no injuries were reported, and tenants were evacuated.
