Sania Mirza shares weight loss pictures, says she lost 26 Kgs

Date:

Tennis player Sania Mirza shared before and after pictures of losing her pregnancy weight.

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza took to Instagram to share her weight loss transformation. She wrote: “89 kilos vs 63. We all have goals. Everyday goals and long term goals. Take pride in each one of those. It took me four months to achieve this goal of mine, to get back to being healthy and fit after having a baby feels like such a long way.to come back and regain fitness and being able to compete at the highest level again. Follow your dreams. No matter how many people tell you, you can’t because God knows how many of those we have around us. If I can then anyone can. #believe #mummahustles.”

Mirza had gained weight during the time of her pregnancy and had been subject to trolls online. The tennis champion has been vocal about body shaming and shutting negative comments that come her way.

Speaking in an interview about a particular picture she received negative comments on, she said: “I was at a baby shower and the amount of body shaming that I got for that picture, I realised that I will make all these people eat their words.”

During her weight loss journey Mirza constantly shared updates and motivational pictures and clips from her workout sessions online with her fans.

Sharing one such update on Instagram, she wrote: “Day 11- Cause it’s been a while I posted. PS — best way to kill the longest 2 minutes of your life while planking, play games on your phone. It’s the only way 2 minutes weren’t feeling like 2 hours. On a serious note – more dynamic and more cardio was being introduced by this point as I was feeling stronger. Had 8 more kilos to lose and whole lot of muscle to put on. #mummahustles”

In October 2018, Mirza and her husband, Pakistani cricket Shoaib Malik announced on Twitter that Mirza had delivered a baby boy and named him Izhaan Mirza Malik.

Mirza recently made her comeback to tennis after having Izhaan. During her comeback she won the WTA Hobart International trophy with partner Nadiia Kichenok of Ukraine.
