Passing through Salik? RTA issues fine clarification

The Road and Transport Authority has clarified that passing through a Salik gate without having enough credit in the tag will result in a fine even if the motorists don’t receive a message regarding the fine.

According to Emarat Al Youm, many motorists have complained about receiving fines without an SMS alert.

The RTA emphasised the importance of charging the tag within the grace period, which is 5 days from the date of passing the gate without credit.

It is important to mention that passing a Salik gate without enough credit will result in a maximum fine of Dh50. From the sixth day, a fine of Dh50 will be levied per day.
