UAE Weather: Rain Forecast for Northern and Eastern Regions as Temperatures Reach 38°C

Date:

NCM Predicts Rain Until Saturday, with Winds of Up to 40km/h and Blowing Dust.

Dubai: Rain is forecast across parts of the UAE’s northern and eastern regions on Thursday, with showers potentially continuing into the weekend. Temperatures are expected to reach 38°C, while humidity could climb to 90 per cent in some areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

In its latest weather bulletin issued on Thursday, the NCM forecast fair to partly cloudy skies, with convective cloud formations developing over some northern and eastern areas, potentially bringing rainfall.

The unsettled weather is being driven by a weak surface pressure system, accompanied by an extension of a weak upper-air low-pressure system affecting the country.

Inland areas are expected to record temperatures between 35°C and 38°C, while coastal areas and islands will see highs ranging from 33°C to 36°C. Mountainous regions will remain cooler, with temperatures between 23°C and 31°C.

Humidity is expected to rise overnight and into Friday morning, increasing the possibility of mist formation over some coastal areas.

Relative humidity could reach 90 per cent in coastal and inland areas, while mountainous regions may record levels of up to 80 per cent.

Winds are expected to be light to moderate, blowing from the southeast to northwest across coastal and inland areas at speeds of 10 to 25km/h, occasionally reaching 35km/h. Sea conditions will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Rain and blowing dust forecast for Friday

The NCM expects further rainfall on Friday, with convective clouds likely to develop over eastern and northern areas during the afternoon.

Winds may strengthen to 40km/h, potentially causing blowing dust in exposed areas, particularly during periods of cloud development.

Sea conditions are expected to range from slight to moderate at times in the Arabian Gulf, while the Oman Sea will remain slight.

More showers possible on Saturday

The chance of rainfall will persist on Saturday, particularly over eastern areas, where convective clouds may form during the afternoon.

Winds could reach speeds of up to 35km/h, while sea conditions are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

By Sunday, the weather is expected to become generally fair to partly cloudy, although clouds may develop over some northern and eastern areas.

On Monday, winds could strengthen to 40km/h over the sea. Conditions in the Arabian Gulf are expected to range from slight to moderate before becoming rough by Tuesday morning. The Oman Sea is forecast to remain slight.

The NCM’s five-day outlook points to the highest likelihood of rainfall between Thursday and Saturday, particularly across the UAE’s northern and eastern regions.
