UAE weather: Rain expected as temperatures dip to 38°C and humidity climbs to 90%

Date:

NCM forecasts rain in eastern and southern UAE, with fog and mist possible overnight.

Dubai: Rain is possible in parts of the UAE today as temperatures reach up to 38°C and humidity climbs to 90 per cent. Fog and mist are also expected overnight and into Tuesday morning, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The NCM forecast fair to partly cloudy conditions, with convective clouds likely to form over eastern and southern areas during the afternoon, bringing the possibility of rainfall.

The weather pattern is being influenced by an extension of a surface low-pressure system, accompanied by an upper-air low-pressure system.

Despite the arrival of November, daytime temperatures will remain relatively high, reaching 35°C to 38°C in inland areas and 33°C to 37°C along the coast and on islands. Mountain temperatures are expected to range between 26°C and 32°C.

Humidity could rise to 90 per cent in some coastal and inland areas, increasing the likelihood of fog or mist forming late on Monday night and early on Tuesday morning.

Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally strengthening with cloud activity and potentially stirring up dust. Speeds are expected to range from 10 to 25km/h, reaching 40km/h in inland and mountainous areas and 35km/h along the coast.

The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea are expected to remain slight.

UAE weather forecast for the coming days

Looking ahead, the NCM expects generally fair to partly cloudy weather on Tuesday, with continued high humidity and the possibility of fog or mist overnight and on Wednesday morning.

Low clouds are forecast over eastern and northern areas on Wednesday and Thursday, while mist could form in some coastal areas during the early morning hours.

The chance of rain is expected to return on Friday, when convective clouds may develop over eastern parts of the country during the afternoon.

Winds could strengthen to 40km/h on Friday, while sea conditions are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea throughout the period.
